Lights Out is a clever and minimalist puzzle game where the goal is simple: turn off all the lights on the board. Behind its straightforward rules lies a surprisingly deep logical challenge that has captivated puzzle fans for decades.
The game consists of a grid of lights, each of which can be either on or off. Pressing a light changes its state — but also toggles the adjacent lights.
Press one light → it switches on/off.
Adjacent lights (up, down, left, right) also toggle → every move affects multiple tiles.
Plan each move carefully → random clicks make the puzzle harder.
Turn off all lights → you win the game.
Lights Out encourages logical thinking, pattern recognition, and strategic planning, rewarding players who can analyze chain reactions and anticipate the outcome of every move.
This version of Lights Out is adapted for the Oric platform, preserving the original puzzle mechanics while optimizing visuals and responsiveness for 8-bit hardware limitations.
The game features a clean grid layout, clear visual light states, and responsive controls, ensuring smooth gameplay while maintaining the purity and challenge of the original concept.
